Pelvic Health and Awareness with Deborah Bowes, PT

This workshop will help you to discover the full use of the pelvic floor, both strength and relaxation . The exercises combine awareness, breathing, and easy full body movements with contractions of these deep muscles. Healthy function of the pelvic floor affects the health of the internal organs. Recovering the full use of the pelvic floor can help reverse the consequences of ageing, hormonal changes or childbirth. Others have found these movement sequences have helped them with back pain, horseback riding, dancing, balance and sexuality. Many women also report a great improvement with bladder control. These novel and gentle exercises are appropriate for everyone. Take once or repeat it.

Easy Hand and Arms: Two class series with Cliff Smyth

These class series are for anyone with hand and arm injuries, and those wishing to prevent them. Each Saturday morning will feature two easy-to-do and enjoyable Awareness Through Movement lessons with a short break between. The lessons will focus on the comfortable use of the hands, as well as the connection of the hands and arms with our shoulders, ribs, spine, pelvis and legs which provide dynamic support the effective self-use. The classes will draw on classic lessons from the 'Easy Hand and Arms' CD series and new material focusing on, among other things, the breath and comfortable sitting. Come to some or come to all.

 

Continuing Education for Feldenkrais Practitioners

We also run professional development workshops for Feldenkrais teachers.

Professional Training

Feldenkrais Teacher Training Are you interested in an exciting, multi-disciplinary system of learning? One that will give you powerful tools to work more effectively in you field - whether it is health and rehabilitation, fitness and well being, artistic expression or another mind-body approach like meditation or Yoga? A system that also provides for the development of your own capacities for moving and sensing yourself; for expanding your expression and your possibilities?

We are excited to be working with the Intitute for the Study of Somatic Education (ISSE) to offer the Feldenkrais Teacher Training Program in San Francisco. This training will bring together the one of the most experienced training providers (ISSE), with the Bay Area's longest established Feldenkrais center (FCME), in a training program that combines in-depth study of the Feldenkrais Method, with a stong base in the professional practice of the Method.
